COVID-19

All of our COVID-19 protocols remain in place, including a limit on the number of people in the store at one time, face mask requirement, required use of hand sanitizer and special shopping hours for at-risk groups. However, you are again allowed to bring your own reusable containers for our bulk foods. We ask all members to review and follow the current CDC guidelines as well as those listed below.

Any changes to in-store operations or hours will be posted on this page.

Our standing reminder about work requirements: Do not come to work or to shop if you are feeling ill, are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, or if you believe have been exposed to the COVID.

Anyone who feels uncomfortable working a shift in-store can contact shifts@greenehillfood.coop to make other arrangements to fulfill their work requirement;

We are now holding virtual orientations and virtual cashier trainings. Check your new member welcome packet email, or email membership@greenehillfood.coop (for orientations) and ops@greenehillfood.coop (for cashier trainings).

Board meetings are now held digitally. If you’d like to express your questions and concerns to the Co-op Board, the best place to do so is during the digital monthly meetings. Please check the calendar for meeting details.

Store credit is now available. All member-owners (excluding trial members) now have the option to purchase store credit through the Co-op website, minimizing the need for debit cards or cash transactions. Buy store credit.

IN-STORE UPDATES AS OF 12/28/2021

UPDATED SCHEDULE WITH PRIORITY SHOPPING HOURS:

We hold a priority shopping hour for at-risk and senior citizen populations to shop when the store is freshly sanitized and without a crowd. This is Monday between 1 pm–3 pm. There is no exception to the priority shopping rule!

Monday: 1pm–3pm for seniors and at-risk populations, 3pm–9pm for all

Tuesday–Friday: 1pm–9pm

Saturday & Sunday: 10am–6pm

SOCIAL DISTANCE REGULATIONS:

Limiting the total number of people in the store at any time to 10 individuals (including both shoppers and those working in the Co-op).

Maintain a minimum 6-foot distance from other people at all times while in the store.

Follow the managers’ and shift leaders’ instructions while working a shift.

We encourage you to shop solo when possible to avoid bringing more people than necessary into the store.

Refrain from speaking on the phone while at the store.

FACE MASK REQUIREMENT:

A mask or face-covering over your nose and mouth is required at all times in the store. We encourage following CDC recommendations to double mask inside stores;

For members who do not come prepared with face coverings, the Co-op will provide access to masks kindly made by our community members for use while shopping. These masks can be dropped off in the hamper near the Co-op exit for proper cleaning.

Masks are never to be disposed of inside the Co-op. The mask should not be placed on any Co-op surface if removed.

HAND SANITIZING REQUIREMENTS:

All members and shoppers must sanitize their hands upon entering the store. Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer regularly.

SAFE CHECK OUT PROCEDURES:

Plexiglass shields were installed at checkouts to separate from the cashier and member. To give six feet of space to cashiers, drop off your shopping baskets at the register and step away. Once cashiers set shoppers up for payment, they will step away which will allow you to come back up to bag your groceries and complete your transaction.

Please stand behind the line until the members/shoppers being cashed out is done. Cashiers will sanitize the area before the next customer is allowed to place their groceries and begin the checkout process.

DISCOURAGING CASH TRANSACTIONS:

Cash transactions are still allowed at the Co-op. But if possible, please pay with a debit/EBT or use contactless payment, which is far cleaner than cash. We are also offering all member-owners (excluding trial members) the option to purchase store vouchers through the Co-op website, which will reduce the number of debit card or cash transactions at the Co-op.
